Batteries may be low or sensor can may need to be reset.

1. Try triggering the sensor from the top, not the front.
2. Lift up the trim ring and lower it back down.
3. Make sure there is no power to the unit – remove the batteries or unplug the AC adapter’s power cable from the sensor can.
4. Wipe the sensor lens clean using rubbing alcohol.
5. Wait 1 minute, then re-insert new alkaline batteries or plug the unit back in.
6. Please ensure that you are only using one power source. For instance, if you are using the power adapter, do not insert into the unit. If using batteries, do not have the unit plugged in.

Objects may be triggering the sensor or it is dirty.

1. Ensure that you are not standing in front of the can or nothing is directly in front of the sensor.
2. Wipe the sensor lens clean using rubbing alcohol.

The motor needs to be recalibrated.

1. Make sure there is no power to the unit – remove the batteries or unplug the AC adapter’s power cable from the sensor can.
2. Manually open the lid.
3. Clean any debris or trash within the hinge gap.
4. Manually close the lid until it is completely flush with the can and hold it completely closed through the next steps.
5. Place your other hand over the motion sensor for 5 seconds to completely drain the electronic memory.
6. Wait 2 minutes and re-insert batteries or plug the unit back in.
7. Please ensure that you are only using one power source. For instance, if you are using the power adapter, do not insert batteries into the unit. If using batteries, do not have the unit plugged in.
8. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, repeat step 1 to 3. In addition, apply multi-use lubricants, such as WD-40 across hinge gap. After application, manually open and close the lid for 7 times. Then proceed to step 4 through step 7.

Clean or brush the hinge area and between the back of the lid and hinge.

Sensor can may be trying to “listen” all the time in noisy areas, which drains the batteries faster than normal. We recommend using the included AC adapter.

Clean stainless steel weekly with a soft cloth, warm water and a mild detergent. DO NOT use steel wool, stainless steel polisher, bleach, salts or acids as these will damage the product. Or use our microfiber mitt, which just uses water on one side to wash and the other dry side to wipe and polish.

Our stickers should not leave residue, but if this happens, remove using adhesive removers such as “Goo-Gone®”, “Un-du®” or “De-solv-it®”. Be sure to rinse the area with water and dry with a soft cloth.
